Delete your HelloMates account

HelloMates: Solo Travel App, operated by Yiriba LLC. Last updated: 2026-09-23.

In short. Open the app, go to Me → Settings → Delete account, and confirm. Deletion is immediate. If you no longer have the app installed, email hello@hellomates.app from the address or phone number on the account and we will delete it for you within 30 days.

Delete it yourself, in the app

Open HelloMates and sign in if you are signed out.
Tap Me in the bottom tab bar.
Tap Settings.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
Confirm. The account is gone straight away and you are signed out.

If you have already removed the app

Email hello@hellomates.app from the email address on the account, or tell us the phone number you signed in with. We may ask you to confirm that you control the account. We will delete it within 30 days and write back when it is done. There is no charge, and you do not need to reinstall the app.

What is deleted

Deleting the account removes, immediately:

your profile, your name and your profile photo;
your sign-in identifiers (email address, phone number, and the identifier Google gave us if you signed in that way);
the pictures and records of any women's lane selfie check;
your onboarding answers, your "here tonight" presence and your landing;
the rooms you host and your membership of other rooms;
your Arm it timers, your Arm it contacts and your prepared message;
your Home links;
your direct message threads;
your Moments and your likes;
your translation usage, your reputation events, your device notification tokens and your entitlements.

What is kept, and for how long

What	Why, and for how long
Messages you sent in shared chats	The text stays so that the other people in the conversation keep their history, but it is attributed to "deleted", not to you.
Purchase records	For the period tax and accounting law requires, typically 7 years, in a form that identifies the transaction rather than you.
Suspension and ban records	Up to 2 years after a ban, so that a banned person cannot simply return.
A safety record of what the account did	Up to 24 months in a separate store that no part of the app reads, used only to investigate abuse and to answer legal requests, never for marketing and never to rebuild a profile. It never includes the women's lane selfie pictures, which are deleted with the account.
Server logs	30 days, for security and debugging.

Your subscription is separate

Deleting your HelloMates account does not cancel a paid subscription. Cancel it where you bought it: on Android, in the Google Play Store app under Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions; on iPhone, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancel before you delete the account, so that you are not billed again.
